Dawkins & Dawkins

Brothers Eric & Anson Dawkins, better known to Gospel Music enthusiasts as Dawkins & Dawkins, are poised to reclaim their position as trail blazers of Contemporary Gospel Music, with the release of their highly anticipated CD, FROM NOW ON.  After a self-imposed hiatus that unexpectedly spanned over a decade, this dynamic production, songwriting, and singing duo has answered the prayers of fans and colleagues alike to join forces once again.

FROM NOW ON is no departure from the signature Rhythm & Praise (R & P) sound that they coined and created on their previous releases, including their self-titled debut recording; DAWKINS & DAWKINS, their sophomore effort; NECESSARY MEASURES, and most notably, their last release; FOCUS. However,  FROM NOW ON continues in their tradition of combining compelling Christ-centered lyrics with cutting edge and progressive production and presentation.

During their break from recording as Dawkins & Dawkins, both Eric and Anson were busy honing their talents in other areas.  Eric became one of the most sought after song-writers and producers in mainstream music, due to his work with his production team, The Underdogs, with whom he worked on music with a veritable who’s who in contemporary R & B and pop music which includes, but is not limited to; Ruben Studdard, Tyrese, Tank, Chris Brown and Christina Aguilera.  Anson focused on beginning a family and, answering the call to traditional ministry, by serving as College & Career Pastor at his church, Life Center, in Tacoma, WA.

FROM NOW ON is rife with both contemporary themes and spiritual principles, and is palatable for even the most discriminating musical ear.  Songs like “Get Down” and “From Now On” urge listeners to seek God, for guidance and direction no matter the circumstance, while “Best Man” and “Ordinary” both serve as reminders that as followers of Christ, we are a chosen generation, set apart from the rest of the world.  Whether over a thumping bass-driven up-tempo track, or an impassioned ballad, Dawkins & Dawkins have the unique ability to encapsulate the problems, privileges, and pressures of our lives within the constraints of beautiful music.

FROM NOW ON…Beginning July 26th!!!

Jessica Reedy

The 22-year-old vocalist was the runner-up on season two of BET's 'Sunday Best.' Though Reedy did not win the gospel music competition series, she still feels victorious because she hasn't stopped working since her season aired.

"The greatest lesson I've learned is that God will take a stained nobody like me and allow my gift to make room for me," she shared. "He has given me a platform to stand before great men and women and share my gift. For God to pick someone who's still learning, still making mistakes, so imperfect and give me a platform before millions all over the world, it's just an example of how great His unconditional love is! I've learned how to truly appreciate God's love."

Since appearing on the 2009 season of 'Sunday Best,' Reedy participated in a Celebrity Health Forum presented by BET's Rap-It-Up campaign and Mary J. Blige's FFAWN Foundation. She also brought down the house with a show-stopping performance at Sheryl Lee Ralph's Divas Simply Singing Benefit in Beverly Hills.

Musically, the statuesque singer is featured on the song 'Troubled World' alongside Faith Evans and Kelly Price for Evans' newly released CD, 'Something About Faith' avail now from eOne. She also recorded a tune called 'Praise in the House' for the soundtrack of the Deitrick Haddon movie, 'Blessed and Cursed.'  She recently released in February 2011 "God Has Smiled On Me" to radio and online...more to come as she preps her 2011 debut album!

Dorinda Clark Cole

Grammy-winning contemporary gospel artist Dorinda Clark-Cole is ready to unveil I SURVIVED, her first full-length album since 2008's Take It Back. I SURVIVED premieres joyous and powerful new songs, including "God Will," "He Brought Me," "Holy One," "This Is Why," and the infectious lead single, “Back To You”.  Recorded on the heels of a devastating house fire, and health scares for one family member and the loss of another, I SURVIVED is a declaration of perseverance, resilience, and an ever-growing faith in God.

On I SURVIVED, which is already being touted as a career-defining release for Clark-Cole, she collaborated with two of Gospel’s most heralded and sought-after producers; longtime collaborator Asaph Alexander Ward (Kim Burrell, Smokie Norful, Vickie Winans) was at the helm of the live session, which took place before an enthusiastic crowd in Nashville, TN, while super-producer Warryn Campbell (Mary Mary, Brandy, Yolanda Adams) took the reins of the studio portion. The result is a powerhouse project rife with the absolute best of music and ministry.

Based in Detroit, Dorinda Clark-Cole developed her musical and performance crafts in the early 1970s as a member of the Clark Sisters, an influential multi-generational contemporary gospel vocal ensemble whose signature harmonies and intricate sound helped connect the worlds of R&B, pop and hip-hop with contemporary Christian music.

One of America's top female gospel groups, the Clark Sisters scored a crossover dance smash in 1983 with "You Brought the Sunshine," which hit #16 on the Billboard R&B Singles chart and #27 on the Billboard Dance Music/Club Play chart while its b-side, "Overdose of the Holy Ghost," provided a showcase for Dorinda's natural talent and vocal range.

Clark-Cole released Dorinda Clark-Cole, an eponymous debut solo album, in 2002; featuring the hits "I'm Coming Out" and a breathtaking "I'm Still Here," the album earned her a Soul Train Lady of Soul Award (Best Female Gospel Artist) and a pair of Stellar Awards.  2005 saw the release of The Rose of Gospel, a live tour de force which brought home another Stellar Award.

Her 2008 solo album, Take It Back -- which included the songs "Faithful," "Praise Your Way Out," "Yesterday," "It's OK," "No Weapon," "If I Were," "Got To Hold On" and "Take It Back" -- became her third straight album to hit Top 5 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart.   The title track, which peaked at #2 on Billboard's Hot Gospel Songs chart, received a BMI Song of the Year Award.

I SURVIVED will be available in stores and online on August 30th!!!

Ricky Dillard

On the upcoming project entitled KEEP LIVING, Dillard takes his signature choir vocal arrangements and melodies to another level.  Producing songs that are mature, discriminating and wise, it is clear that he has grown in his approach to music.   Gems like "I Am Saved," "He Turned It," and "He Reigns," are definitive and timeless offerings.

The title track "Keep Living" a literal command that reminds us that we always have something to live for with God on board.  Industry fave, Chrystal Rucker simply soars on the lead vocals.  The lead single, "God Is Great," is an instantaneous classic. Lyrically, the simplicity of the drive, 'God is Great', to the intricate verses, the song immediately gets the listener going. Dillard himself is featured on the song giving it life while his long-time choir, New G's, dynamic vocals and modulation are executed flawlessly.   Quickly embraced by Gospel radio and connecting with audiences, "God Is Great," charted immediately and continues to rise.

While the moniker, 'choir master' is weighty, Dillard steps right into the role. "I feel the Lord shifting me into a father / mentor position," said Dillard. "Ministers of music and choir directors are looking to me for mentorship and counsel and people look at us to see what we [New G] are doing next."

KEEP LIVING was recorded live at Second Ebenezer Church in Detroit, MI and people can be a part of the awesome worship experience by purchasing the concert DVD along with the CD which will be available in-stores and on-line everywhere April 26th

New Single called "God is Great" now hitting the airwaves and available now on iTunes.

Paul Porter

artists_ppPaul Porter is a combination of old school and new school. He gives you a little gospel, My Redeemer Lives, You’re Blessed and He’s There All The Time. Then throws in a little R&B, You Are, You’re Blessed, If There’s No Tomorrow, Get Away and Pray and I Know A Man. He also gives you songs to clap your hands and dance to: I Made It Through, What Did You Do? and I’ll Praise You.

Paul Porter’s soulful sound illuminates throughout this CD. He has made such a smooth transition from his quartet days with the Christianaires to producing an amazing solo album. I’m sure this is only the beginning for Mr. Porter. The best is yet to come. This CD should be in your collection. It’s worth having and listening to. Everyday is A New Day! Believe it. Paul Porter does!!!

JJ is a native of Brooklyn, NY, where he attended Mt. Sinai Cathedral, C.O.G.I.C. where his grandfather, Bishop Clarence Sexton Sr., was the Pastor. However, his love for gospel music began at his current church when his friend, Shawn Brown, asked him to come to choir rehearsal. It was then that James gave his heart, as well as his voice, talent, and his feet to the Lord. Inspired by the writing ability of his friend Shawn and his pastor, Bishop White, James began writing his own songs such as "He is the Spirit" and "Garment of Praise." Since then, James has been called upon to write and direct for many well-known artists.

Chorus1

There will be glory after this; There will be victory after this

God will move for you, give him the praise he’s due

He provides in the midst of recession

Have faith in him, he’ll come through

Just so he can show himself strong in your behalf

There’ll be a testimony after this; There’ll be glory after this
